Trade advisors are selected for their expertise in international trade. Simenon, who works at the law firm Paul Frank and Collins, joins a network of French business leaders and experts in international commerce to support France’s businesses around the world and facilitate foreign trade. Her appointment recognizes her work in assisting French companies expand their operations in the United States. Trade advisors serve four functions to the French government: to advise government authorities, regional authorities and French embassies abroad on international trade issues and specific markets; to support French companies in their international expansions; to train and educate young French graduates about international trade; and to promote France as a nation to do business. Simenon holds two master’s degrees in law from Lille University in France and an LL.M. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, Los Angeles. Prior to joining Paul Frank and Collins, Simenon practiced corporate immigration law in Los Angeles and taught courses in European Union law and transnational sales law at the USC law school. She also served as immigration counsel to the French Consulate General of France in Los Angeles, 2010-2013.
